Part Two of Gazetteer:

BROOKLINE - a township in Hillsborough county, incorporated 1764, with a population agreeable to the census of 1810, of 538 souls. Bounded N. by Milford, E. by Hollis, S. by Massachusetts state line, and W. by Mason. Its area is 12,664 acres, 240 of which are water. Nissitisset river passes through this town from the N.W. to S.W. and falls in to Nashua river in Pepperell, Massachusetts. Potanipo pond, through which this river passes, is near the centre of the town, and about a mile long, and 120 rods wide. Here are a meeting house, 3 corn mills, 5 sawmills, and 2 trading stores. Rev. L. Wadsworth, their present pastor was ordained 1797.
