Know A ll Men by these present that I Daniel Canney of Rochester in the county of Strafford & state of Newhampshire Husbandman for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and twenty dollars to me in hand well and truly paid by George Barray of Barrington in the county and state aforesd yeoman the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have given granted bargained and sold and by these presents do give grant bargain and sell alien enfeoff convey and confirm to him the said George Barray his heirs & afsigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land in Barrington afores'd in the first range of lots in s'd barrington containing twenty acres of Land that Benjamin Parle purchased of John Barry of of s'd Barrington being of a lot of land originally granted to Richard Wibird Esq'r of Portsmouth which said twenty acres of land are bounded as follows (viz) begining at the westerly corner of William Stanton's land and on the line between the first & second range of lots and running north forty two degrees cast the wedth of fifty acres (s'd Twenty acres are taken out of fifty) or as s'd line runs between the first and second range of lots and running as far in length holding the full wedth of s'd fifty acres as will compleat said twenty acres out of s'd fifty acres purchased of s'd Barray as afores'd & no more.
To Have and To Hold these granted premises with the appurtenances thereof to him the s'd George Barray to his heirs and afsigns to their only proper use and benefit forever hereby engageing to warrant and defend the s'd granted premises against all claims or demands of any person or persons claiming by from, or under me or by any procurements~ And I Elizabeth Canney wife of the above mentioned Daniel Canney do for myself my heirs Executors and administrators quit claim my right and title to the said George Barray my right and title forever to him and his heirs & afsigns forever In witnefs whereof we have hereunto set my hand and seal this nineteenth day of September one thousand seven hundred and ninety seven
